Welcome to the LARES Family Day!

On behalf of the Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services (LARES) program at UIC, we are pleased to invite you to join us at our LARES Family Day event!

The LARES program is the largest academic support program at UIC, garnering national recognition for increasing retention and graduation rates among Illinois’ undergraduate Latina/o/x students. At UIC, a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), LARES plays key roles in assisting students with enrollment and committed to helping students successfully transition to UIC. Our services include academic advising, academic tutoring and seminars, financial aid understanding, major and career exploration, and student engagement.

At the LARES Family Day event, you will have the opportunity to meet Latina/o/x UIC students, staff, and your LARES advisor while learning about the UIC Latina/o/x student experience! We will provide you with information on financial aid, campus programs, academic, and scholarship opportunities. The presentations will be offered both in Spanish and English. As a participant, you will have the chance to enter a raffle to win a UIC book scholarship valid for Fall 2023.

The LARES Family Day event will be offered in-person this Spring 2023.

¡Bienvenidos al Dia de la Familia!

En nombre del programa Latinoamericano(a) de Reclutamiento y Servicios Educativos (LARES) en UIC, nos complace a invitarlos al evento Dia De La Familia de LARES!

El programa UIC LARES es el programa de apoyo académico más grande en el campus y es reconocido a nivel nacional por aumentar las tasas de retención y graduación entre las estudiantes Latina/os universitarios en el estado de Illinois. El programa ayuda a los estudiantes con asesoramiento académico, exploración de carreras y especialización, tutoría y talleres académicos, participación en organizaciones estudiantiles y ofrece becas.

En el evento del Día de la Familia de LARES, tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a estudiantes Latinas / o / x de UIC, personal y consejera/os de LARES y aprender sobre la experiencia academic y social de estudiantes Latinas / o / x en UIC. Le proporcionaremos sesiones informativas sobre ayuda económica, programas del campus y oportunidades académicas y de becas. Este evento es bilingüe en español. Como participante, el estudiante tendrá la oportunidad de participar en una rifa para ganar una beca para libros de la UIC válida para el otoño del 2023.

El evento del Día de la Familia LARES se ofrecerá en persona en la primavera de 2023.
