This summer, the LARES program is excited to connect with you in person! LARES Sessions will be offered after students are done with course registration during summer orientation.
The goal of LARES Sessions
LARES advisors will introduce students to the numerous academic services provided by the LARES program. LARES advisors will also answer financial aid questions, assist in the course registration process, provide information on academic and scholarship opportunities, and connect admitted students with undergraduate UIC Latinx students.

Attend LARES Transfer and Thrive (Virtual)!
This session is designed to help get you ready for your UIC Orientation. LARES advisors will help jumpstart your success at UIC by helping you transition, learn about LARES services, and guide you through the next steps of your academic journey. This session does not replace orientation; students must register for orientation.
When: Sessions are scheduled twice a month starting in May through July. Refer to the registration form for specific dates.

Meet LARES at the Marketplace Resource Fair During Orientation!
When: Marketplace will be held during your registered orientation program. Time(s) TBA.

Meet with Your LARES Academic Advisor!
When: You can meet with a LARES Academic Advisor at any time during this process with any questions you may have.
Where: To view your assigned advisor, visit the LARES Academic Advising webpage and schedule an appointment.

Apply to the LARES Transfer Scholar Award!
The LARES Transfer Scholar Award is designed to assist incoming transfer students reach their goal of obtaining a baccalaureate degree. Candidates are considered based on merit and leadership. Award funding is specifically earmarked for tuition, fees, and other educational related expenses.
When: Deadline to apply is June 2024.
