Orientation blurb
In collaboration with UIC New Student and Family Programs and Academic Colleges, LARES participates in all First-Year orientation programs. In addition to co-advising during College New Student Advising and Registration (NSAR), LARES advisors are available to assist students in their transition to UIC and help them adjust to the culture of higher education.
Advisors are readily available to assist with financial aid questions, course registration, academic and scholarship opportunities, and college graduation requirements. Through Spark Connections con LARES, advisors help students find their sense of belonging by connecting them with fellow UIC undergraduate students and introducing them to student organizations to further encourage their involvement.
The LARES program welcomes admitted students to UIC and encourages them to connect with a LARES advisor early on. Students are assigned to LARES advisors based on their major and pre-educational goals. To identify your LARES advisor, visit the LARES Advising webpage.
