To ensure the safety of our students and staff, the LARES office will remain closed until further notice. Though we are unable to meet with you physically, we are still here to serve you virtually. LARES is working remotely to best service our students and Latino community.
We encourage you to call (312) 996-3356 to schedule an appointment with a LARES Academic Advisor for any questions regarding orientation, registration, financial aid, or any other related issue. Our phone line is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm. If you are a current student, you may also schedule your appointment with a LARES Academic Advisor on iAdvise via your my.uic student portal.
Our LARES tutors are also available to meet virtually to provide assistance with your writing, math, and chemistry courses. Contact the appropriate tutor to schedule a session.
If you have any other questions and are unsure who to contact, send your inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will direct your e-mail to the correct individual.

Black Lives Matter
The Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services program stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and remains deeply committed to advocating against the violence that continues to be inflicted upon Black lives in the United States. As a program that is grounded in social justice ideals, we condemn any form of racism, oppression, and violence imposed on people of color and our communities.
As we take a moment to reflect on how we can better serve our students and communities of color, we ask all institutions of higher education to do the same.
Black Lives DO MATTER in the United States, in Latin America, and throughout the rest of the world. The LARES program stands in solidarity and as an ally with those who continue to face systemic oppression and injustice.
We see you, we hear you, we are here for you and with you! We stand together always.
LARES siempre esta contigo
