NALACC Tenth Anniversary- Annual Leadership Assembly
The 2014 NALACC Annual Leadership Assembly will take place in Chicago, IL, on the campus of the University of IL at Chicago from November 6-9.
Keep an eye out for on-line registration, which will be open in a few days.
This year will be an exciting one for NALACC. In addition to celebrating our tenth birthday as a network, we have an exciting opening conference on “Crises in an Inter-Connected World”. This event, to be held all day on November 6, will explore the question:
What can we learn from the humanitarian crisis of refugee children that can help us avoid (or manage) the next crisis? Even better, how can we stop running from crisis to crisis?
We live in a region joined by geography, economics and culture. Like it or not, our futures are knit together in many ways. We will rise and fall together, but we aren’t behaving that way. Today we are running from crisis to crisis. Is there a better approach? What can we do to get there?
We will be joined by thought leaders and activists from the United States, Mexico, and Central America for this special event. We are pleased that Oscar Martinez, prize-winning author of the book “La Bestia” has already confirmed as a speaker.
We are delighted to report that the University of Illinois at Chicago has decided to sponsor our Conference and Assembly this year, so the events will take place in their excellent facilities, which are centrally located to downtown, airports, and public transportation.
